Having first achieved Investors in People (IiP) status in 2007 TRAC qualified for the additional recognition of IiP silver. This puts TRAC in the top 1% of all IIP accredited UK businesses. The assessors commented on the “excellent culture and practices and significant improvements in what was already good practice”.
This success was quickly followed by TRAC collecting the Graduate Developement award at the 2010 Cornwall Business in Excellence Training Awards. The company is also a finalist for the fourth consecutive year in the Cornwall Business Awards which take place on 20th May. All of these awards are a reflection of the people within the company. The strength of our business is built on the people within it and creating and encouraging a positive working environment and so its great to get external feedback that we are successfully achieving this aim.

On the 1st January 2010 a new European variation regulation came into force replacing Regulations 1084/2003/EC and 1085/2003/EC. The regulation sets out to provide a simpler, clearer and more flexible regime for the handling of licence variations.
As with anything new practical experience inevitably gives rise to complications that were not expected during the planning stages. You can read our article that outlines some of the issues surrounding the implementation of the new variations guidance.

Since launching our Patient Information Leaflet user testing service in 2006, we have now donated over £20,000 to local charities, clubs and community projects. At £20 per volunteer that is over 1,000 interviews carried out!
Since it was launched, it has now supported over 50 community groups such as Cornwall Blind Association, St Agnes Football Club, Truro Fencing Club, Cornwall Air Ambulance, and Camborne Bowling Association who have all had their funds boosted by the volunteer scheme. When we came up with the idea of running the volunteer project we really didn’t know if it would take off, but are absolutely thrilled that we have been able to donate £22,000 to good causes and community projects in Cornwall.
TRAC is continuing its charity work by becoming a member of Cornwall Community Foundation’s 100 Club, which has been launched to enable businesses in the county to help fund grass root organisations and projects. For more information vist the Cornwall Foundation website. Both initiatives are a central part of our social contribution policy.
