Merry Christmas from TRAC

Merry Christmas from TRAC

This is our last newsletter for 2009.  It has been another great year for TRAC and we'd like to thank everyone for their continued support.  We have plans to expand our service offer again next year.  You can read more about this in the newsletter as well as what events TRAC have been attending and meet our new team member.

We are also giving you the opportunity to win a luxury hamper filled with Cornish goodies.  Simply click here to send us an email to enter our prize draw (or, send an email to prizedraw@tracservices.co.uk with 'I'd like to win your hamper!' as the subject line). Closing date for entry is Thursday 31st December 2009.

Finally we'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and send our best wishes for 2010.  We decided that we would not send Christmas cards this year and have, instead made a donation to Cornwall Hospice Care.

Cornwall Hospice Care is an independent Cornish Charity. They aim to deliver the very best in specialist palliative care in a homely and friendly atmosphere and bring the patient’s pain and symptoms of illness under control, enabling many to return to their own home. More information can be found at http://www.cornish-hospices.co.uk/

TRAC team grows again

TRAC team grows again

We are delighted to introduce the latest addition to our team.  Elizabeth Vincent joined TRAC in November as a Regulatory Affairs Manager.  Liz has a wealth of experience within the industry, in particular in medical devices, allowing us to continue to expand our service offer.  To find out more please read the full press release.

Biocidal Products Directive (BPD)

TRAC recently attended an event organised in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive to help industry understand how best to meet the requirements of this new directive. The legislation means that all biocidal products will soon require a marketing authorisation before they can be placed on the EU market. To read more about what we learnt at this event and how TRAC will be looking to help companies meet the requirements click here.

Investors In People - Silver Status

Investors In People - Silver Status

We are delighted to announce that following our review last month TRAC continues to be recognised as Investors in People.  In addition as a result of the improvements since our first assessment in 2007 we have qualified for additional recognition as Investors in People Silver status.  We are only the second company in Cornwall to achieve this level.

Organisations who achieve Investors In People Bronze, Silver and Gold status currently represent the top 1% of recognised Investors in People organisations.  The assessor said "the review was a pleasure to complete as it was so rewarding to see how well the company is developing as an organisation through its people; who were, without exception very motivated, professional and who clearly very much enjoy being involved with this exciting company and with the others in their great team."

We will be attending an event in January to celebrate our success with the formal presentation of our new plaque.  Look out for pictures on the website next month.

TRAC's commitment to training

The team have been out of the office recently to attend various key industry events.  Company Director, Jonathan Trethowan, attended the sixth TOPRA Annual Symposium in Stockholm.  Over 400 delegates from 25 countries attended the three day event.  It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with colleagues and debate the key issues for European Regulatory Affairs.

Also out and about was Senior Regulatory Affairs Execuitve Claire Pomeroy who attended the joint meeting between TOPRA and the European Medicines Agency held in London earlier this month.  This was the fourth annual EMEA round up of the year and look towards 2010.  Following her attendance at the meeting Claire is writing an article on the new variation guidelines which will appear in the March edition of TOPRA's Regulatory Rapporteur. In the meantime you can read Claire's brief overview of the key discussion topics here.
